FAQ
Common questions.
Short, honest answers to what people ask most. Still unsure? Reach out and a bilingual team member will help.
Is HarborPath a government website?
No. We are an independent private service, not affiliated with any government or embassy. We summarize official rules and link back to the source so you can verify.
Can you guarantee my visa or application will be approved?
No one honestly can. Approval decisions rest entirely with the authorities. We help you prepare thoroughly and avoid common rejection reasons, but the outcome is never guaranteed.
Is the information free?
Yes. Policy summaries, self-check lists, and guides are free everywhere. In Shanghai we also offer optional paid help with materials, appointments, and staged filing.
What do your fees cover?
Any fee covers only our own preparation and support work. Government fees are separate and paid directly to the authorities. We never charge to influence a decision.
How current is the information?
Every entry shows a last-verified date and links to the official source. We re-check core policies regularly and after any announced change.
Do you help outside Shanghai?
Yes — with verified policy information and free self-check lists everywhere. Hands-on filing support is currently offered in Shanghai only.
How do you handle my personal data?
We collect as little as possible, use it only to answer your enquiry, and never sell it. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
The rules changed — what should I do?
Always confirm with the linked official source before acting, and let us know so we can update the summary. When in doubt, contact the relevant authority directly.
